When traveling along the Bogotá-Girardot route, operated by VÍA SUMAPAZ concession, travelers can visit several municipalities in Cundinamarca and Tolima that offer tourist destinations and adventure initiatives, connecting with nature, immersing in history and agricultural culture, among other attractions, to enjoy during the season.

Starting the journey from Bogotá, the first stop is in Soacha, where visitors can explore heritage estates, ecotourism parks, and the municipality's archaeological museum, among other attractions. Next is Granada, a municipality known for its agricultural production, where glamping accommodations, restaurants, peaceful resting areas, and the possibility of enjoying ecological tours can be found.

Further along is the municipality of Silvania, famous for its diverse fauna and flora, where the beauty of the landscape and connection with nature allow for a rejuvenating break. There, visitors will find accommodation services, as well as the opportunity to spot birds, take ecological hikes, enjoy canopy activities, and participate in workshops on organic and hydroponic cultivation.

Undoubtedly, a must-stop is Fusagasugá, known as the "Garden City of Colombia" for its variety of flowers and its surroundings with an impressive environmental belt, Alto de Quininí, and Alto de Fusacatán. It boasts rich colonial history with ancient houses that have more than 200 years of history, along with a wide gastronomic variety. Another unmissable destination is Melgar, known as the "sea of pools," a natural destination moving towards sustainability, with friendly people. As Nilo, Suárez, and Carmen de Apicalá, Melgar is known for its diverse nightlife and nature tourism, offering unforgettable experiences with waterfalls, flora, fauna, and agrotourism plans.

At the end of the journey are the municipalities of Ricaurte, Girardot, and Flandes, surrounded by green hills, wetlands, natural streams, sulfuric waters, and native forests. They boast a rich historical heritage and are sought after as tourist, gastronomic, and adventure sports destinations.

To facilitate travelers' journeys to these destinations, VÍA SUMAPAZ concession, formerly Vía 40 Express, has opened 37 kilometers of a third lane along the route for this season. Since December 22, mobility devices and plans have been deployed in coordination with the Traffic and Transportation Directorate to ensure the safety of the estimated 430,000 vehicles that will use the road corridor in the coming days.
